A Setting That Does the Work for You
Some venues need to be dressed up. Spedalone does not. Set among centuries-old olive groves and vineyards on a working organic farm, five minutes from the medieval walls of Pienza — the landscape alone resets how people think.
We have hosted intimate leadership dinners, brand experiences for international manufacturers, creative retreats, training days, and multi-day corporate escapes. Every event is built around your needs, not a fixed package. We are attentive to the details that matter and straightforward about the ones that don't.
Our restaurant, La Pecora Bianca, seats up to 50 and serves an honest Tuscan table — almost entirely from our certified organic farm and local producers we know personally. The kitchen does not do canapé trays and foam. It does real food, done very well.

Art & Watercolour Retreats
Paint the Val d'Orcia. Easels, materials and expert guidance provided. Sessions are held outdoors in the olive groves and vineyard terraces — one of the most photographed landscapes on earth, and an extraordinary canvas. Easels available to hire.
Photography Retreats
The Val d'Orcia offers extraordinary photographic conditions at every hour. We guide small groups through golden hour shoots in the cypress alleys, dawn mist in the valley, intimate portrait sessions in the olive grove. For amateurs and professionals alike.

Private Dinners & Gala Evenings
The restaurant seats up to 50 and can be reserved exclusively. A long, unhurried Tuscan dinner with our own organic wines, olive oil pressed on the property, and a menu that reflects what the season offers — not what the wholesaler delivered.
Training Days & Workshops
A thoughtfully designed space for focused training, workshops, or planning sessions — with proper catering from the kitchen, breakout spaces in the gardens, and none of the stale air of a conference centre. Small groups and intimate formats only.

We recently hosted an exclusive multi-day experience for a leading international tyre brand — riders' briefings in the olive grove, curated motorcycle tours on the Val d'Orcia's most spectacular roads, private dinners from the kitchen.

March through October
Podere Spedalone operates as a fully active working agriturismo and is popular year-round with guests from around the world. From March to October the property is typically heavily booked and the majority of accommodation and restaurant capacity is in use.
We are always direct about what is possible. If you have a date or season in mind, the best thing to do is reach out early — we will give you a straight answer and, if the timing doesn't work, we will tell you so.
The ideal window for exclusive or near-exclusive hire. The estate quietens, the Val d'Orcia in winter carries a particular stillness and beauty, and we can dedicate our full attention to your event.
Events during peak season are possible but need to be secured well in advance — often booking for the following year. If you have a specific date in mind, reach out now rather than later.
The Val d'Orcia does not make a good backdrop for ordinary thinking.
That is rather the point.
